Liverpool’s season continues to run on all fronts as they closed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City to just one point with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday, while they now head to Nottingham Forest for an FA Cup quarter-final match on Sunday.

The Reds came away unscathed from their midweek win against the Gunners, although Jurgen Klopp was left without two of his first team players for that game, and there are doubts over whether they will be fit in time for this weekend.

Here is all you need to know about the current state of play at Anfield and the expected return dates for those on the sidelines ahead of their trip to Nottingham Forest.

Midfield veteran James Milner was left out of the Liverpool squad for their victory over Arsenal on Wednesday after falling ill ahead of the game, with it being revealed that he had come down with a virus.

It has not been confirmed as Covid, which would mean that Milner can return to action as soon as he feels better and is fit to do so, although it remains to be seen as to whether that will be this weekend.

The 36-year-old is not a huge miss due to Liverpool’s incredible midfield depth and the fact he isn’t a regular starter, but he still remains an important figure in the squad due to his vast experience and versatility.
