Liverpool could be tempted by repeat Luis Diaz plan after Fabio Carvalho transfer

As Jurgen Klopp and his players aim to finish a remarkable season with a whopping four trophies to their name, the Liverpool recruitment team are keen to make a strong start to the summer transfer window.

The Reds are on the verge of signing Fulham sensation Fabio Carvalho when his contract at Craven Cottage expires in June. Only once the window opens will the deal officially be completed, with a £7million fee expected to be handed over in order to avoid a tribunal between the two clubs like in the case of Harvey Elliott three years ago.

But while Liverpool wait to wrap up his acquisition, incoming sporting director Julian Ward - tasked with replacing the acclaimed Michael Edwards - can draw up plans for Carvalho's immediate future on Merseyside. With Klopp already boasting a gluttony of attacking options, the 19-year-old has been tipped for a loan move after helping the Cottagers dominate the Championship and emphatically earn promotion back to the Premier League.

But while Fulham fans would love to see Carvalho stay in west London for another campaign, the Liverpool ECHO have named Porto as a potential destination for the Portugal youth international.

The Primeira Liga giants were hoping to sign him on a permanent basis but may have to settle for a temporary transfer. The Reds moved quickly after narrowly failing to secure his services on transfer deadline day at the eleventh hour. Porto are still said to be interested in a loan deal and would offer Carvalho the chance to follow the same path as Liverpool ace Luis Diaz.
