Liverpool Champions League final referee confirmed as unwelcome Real Madrid reminder
Clement Turpin will referee Liverpool's Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris later this month.
The Frenchman has been given the honour after taking charge of the Europa League final last season, when Villarreal beat Manchester United on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
He was the fourth official when Liverpool were beaten 3-1 by Real in the Champions League final in Kyiv in 2018.
Turpin has previously taken charge of three Liverpool games. He was the man in the middle for the 1-0 home win over Augsburg in the Europa League round of 32 in February 2016 and officiated the 1-1 draw at Spartak Moscow in the Champions League group stage in September 2017.

Turpin has also been in charge of four Real Madrid games in the Champions League, all of which have been won by the Spanish giants. He was the referee for their 3-1 win at Chelsea in this season's quarter-finals.
