Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claims age prevented him from being "angry" at reporter

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that age prevented him from being "angry" with a journalist in his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool's Champions League semi-final trip to Villarreal.

The Reds go into the second-leg with a two-goal advantage thanks to a comfortable win over the Yellow Submarine at Anfield last Wednesday. An own goal from Pervis Estupinan and Sadio Mane's 55th minute strike proved to be the difference as Liverpool moved a step closer to qualifying for the final later this month.

In the other semi-final, Manchester City secured a 4-3 first-leg success over Real Madrid in a thrilling game at the Etihad Stadium. It gives the Citizens a platform to build on as try and reach their second successive final.

However, Liverpool could still win the quadruple. Jurgen Klopp's side have already lifted the Carabao Cup and could also win the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup before the end of the month. The Reds are currently a point behind City in the league with four matches to go and also take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final on May 14.

As Klopp as previously mentioned, the Reds are taking every game as it comes as they try and win every trophy they can possibly lift come the end of the season. Ahead of the clash with Villarreal, Klopp was asked about whether the tie was over after his side's first-leg win.

He said: "If I was younger I'd have been really angry with the question! Of course, no. It's only half-time. We have to go there and try to win, knowing they (Villarreal) will go with all they have."
