Liverpool 3-3 Brighton: Anfield mocked for celebrations when going 3-2 up

Liverpool fans are being mocked for their subdued celebrations after going 3-2 ahead against Brighton on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side found themselves 2-0 down at home to Brighton after Leandro Trossard bagged a brace inside 17 minutes.

It looked as though Liverpool’s slow start to the 2022/23 season was set to continue.

However, they were given hope when Roberto Firmino pulled a goal back in the 33rd minute.

Liverpool were level 10 minutes into the second half as Firmino grabbed his second to bring the scores level at 2-2. With 35 minutes remaining, surely there was only one winner now.

And it took less than 10 minutes for Liverpool to take the lead.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner was deflected into his own net by Adam Webster as Liverpool went 3-2 ahead.

You’d think that, following their start to the campaign and the fact they had found themselves 2-0 down, the roof would have been taken off Anfield.

But that wasn’t quite the case.

Fan footage has emerged of the celebrations at the Anfield Road End after the ball had found the back of the net and it wasn’t quite the ecstasy you’d imagine.

Instead, Liverpool fans are being mocked for their lack of celebration despite just coming back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2.

Of course, we’re sure it would be slightly different up the other end in the Kop. If Liverpool were attacking that end in the second half – like they often are – you would have seen far more jubilant celebrations in the stand behind the goal.
