LIVE: Violence erupts outside Southport mosque after vigil to remember children killed in stabbings

A large scale 'disorder' has erupted outside a mosque in Southport after a vigil was held to remember the lives of the three little girls killed in the stabbing incident.

Video footage shared online this evening shows a large number of people, a number of them shouting and pushing one another, with police drafted in in an attempt to calm the escalating scenes.

Merseyside Police officers and vans could be seen blocking the street, with riot police becoming 'involved in scuffles' with the large group.
