LIVE updates: Large cordon in place after 'very serious incident' on border of Moss Side and Hulme
A cordon is in place at a major south Manchester junction tonight. Moss Lane East has been taped off, close to the junction with Princess Road on the border of Moss Side and Hulme. Officers are at the scene guarding the cordon with a black car visible inside it.
The cordon is said to have been in place since shortly before 8:30pm. The Manchester Evening News understands there has been what has been described as a 'very serious incident.'
The nature of the incident is not yet clear. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have been approached for comment.

Princess Road was also blocked when the cordon was initially put in place earlier this evening but is now unaffected. However, neither traffic or pedestrians can turn into Moss Lane and Princess Road can't be accessed from Moss Lane Eaat
