Live updates from Pride Cymru 2025 as parade kicks off huge weekend
Pride Cymru is taking place in Cardiff this weekend. The event celebrates all things LGBTQ+ and starts with the parade at 11am before two days of events in Coopers Field in Bute Park.
It is 40 years since the first Pride march in Cardiff, and the parade will be led by some of those who were there that day. Members of the trans community will also be front and centre. The parade starts outside the Angel Hotel in Cardiff city centre and is on course to be the biggest yet with more people signing up in advance than ever before.
At 11am, people will gather on Westgate Street, before the parade starts its two-mile journey along Castle Street moving onto High Street, onto St Mary Street, back into the Hayes, onto St. John Street, along Queen Street, up Park Place, back along Greyfriars Road, onto Kingsway and finishing on Castle Street.
Artists performing include Ella Henderson, Shola Ama, Una Healy and Sonique as well as comedians, performers and drag stars.
