Cardiff City v Johor Darul Ta'zim Live: Kick-off time and score updates
Cardiff City's pre-season tour to Spain kicks off with a game against Malaysian outfit Johor Darul Ta'zim.
It will be Bluebirds fans' first taste of football under Brian Barry-Murphy, after the Irishman took charge of a behind-closed-doors game against Merthyr Town last weekend, which they won comfortably. But tonight's challenge will see them take on the Malaysian champions.
The Southern Tigers, as they are known, are owned by Tunku Ismail Idris, the Crown Prince of Johor. They are managed by former Watford boss Xisco Muñoz.
They have dominated their domestic scene in recent years — winning the Super League title for seven seasons in a row. They’ve completed a domestic treble in each of the last three campaigns, lifting the Malaysia Cup and FA Cup alongside the league crown.
Their success has also seen them qualify for the AFC Champions League Elite, where they reached the round of 16 before narrowly losing 1-0 on aggregate to Buriram United. Last season they were in imperious form — going unbeaten with 23 wins and a single draw across the campaign.
So it will be interesting to see how Barry-Murphy's Bluebirds fare against them and fans will doubtless be looking to see just how well drilled he has his charges just weeks out from the season beginning.
The match kicks off at 6pm UK time at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain, and a live stream pass can be purchased via the club's website for £5.
