Live updates as Wales' health minister gives update on Covid situation

Wales' health minister Eluned Morgan will give an update about the latest Covid situation in Wales this lunchtime.

She will take the weekly Welsh Government press conference from 12pm on Tuesday.

Following that, she will give a statement at the meeting of all MSs in the Senedd about long Covid.

This week, Welsh Government will look at the Covid restrictions which remain in place as it is the three-weekly review.

The First Minister, Mark Drakeford, had already said that will include looking at masks and Covid passes, ahead of Wales' first home Six Nations games in Cardiff this weekend. You can read about how the review could look here.

The latest data for Wales shows the infection rate is slowing. Figures based on PCR tests, for the seven days up to January 31, now stands at 466 cases for every 100,000 people – a reduction from the 500.4 recorded on Sunday. In the seven days to February 2 a total of 33.1% of PCR tests across Wales gave a positive result, a fall on the 33.7% reported on Sunday. You see all the latest data here.
