Live updates as Taffs Well accident causes long delays on A470 into Cardiff
An accident on the A470 near Cardiff is causing long delays for commuters on Tuesday morning (November 7),
Traffic monitors are showing long delays of 55 mnutes and one lane closed after an accident near Taffs Well. It has happened on the section between the Nantgarw and Taffs Well Interchanges.
A lane in both directions was closed, At 8.12am, Traffic Wales reported that all lanes had reopened but "heavy congestion remains in the area."
They say: "Please remain patient and allow additional time for travel."
Congestion is back to the Coryton Interchange for northbound traffic and back to Broadway Interchange for southbound.
A statement from South Wales Police said: "Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
There are delays on routes through Caerphilly, Talbot Green and Porth as a result.
