Live updates as road shut following serious crash on outskirts of Cardiff

A serious crash has closed a main road in Cardiff and police have warned it will remain closed for some time.

Pentwyn Drive, in Pontprennau, is blocked off between the junction at Brynelyn and Glyn Coed Road and people are being urged to find alternative routes.

South Wales Police said officers were at the scene just after 6.30pm and said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Pentwyn Drive. From junction Brynelyn to Glyn Coed Road. It is expected to remain closed for some time.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
