LIVE updates as Premier League set to make decision on fixture postponements

Yesterday marked one of the most sombre days in British history with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Her 70-year reign will be commemorated in the world of sport in the days to come with Manchester United players holding a minute's silence in her memory before Thursday's Europa League tie with Real Sociedad.

Friday's domestic sporting fixtures have been either cancelled or postponed in light of the news and more could be called off over the weekend. Saturday's and Sunday's Premier League fixtures could be rescheduled amid the period of mourning.

The announcement of a decision is expected today with the EFL also in discussions. United are scheduled to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Perk at 4.30pm on Sunday as they attempt to stretch their winning league run to five games, while City are due to play Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium at 5.30pm on Saturday.

As the country mourns the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the domestic sporting world is paying its respects and mulling over potential fixture postponements this weekend.

Friday's EFL matches have been called off and we await a decision from the Premier League on games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
