Live updates as police incident shuts main road in Cardiff

A police incident has closed a main road in Cardiff in both directions, and members of the public are being advised to "please avoid the area."

Officers from South Wales Police are in attendance on Monday, and have closed Drope Road, St George's Super Ely in both directions between Dan's Lane junction and Drope Road.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Emergency services are at the scene of an incident on Drope Road, St George's Super Ely.

"The road is currently closed in both directions between Dan's Lane junction and Drope Road.

"It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience."
