LIVE updates as Oasis fans told to WALK to Heaton Park from town amid huge bus queues and '90-minute' wait for trams at Victoria

Oasis fans have been advised to WALK to Heaton Park amid waits of up 90 minutes for trams from Victoria station.

The iconic Manchester band, led by Liam and Noel Gallagher, will be playing the first of their shows at Heaton Park tonight (July 11) with close to 80,000 fans expected to be in attendance.

The Manchester shows, which will continue until July 20, come following the first two nights of the Live '25 tour in Cardiff last week. First announced last summer, the tour marks the first time the Gallagher brothers have reunited on stage in nearly 16 years - and it's sent fans into an overdrive of nostalgia and hype.

At Victoria station on Friday afternoon, fans are queuing outside the building waiting for Metrolink services to Heaton Park. Staff are advising people of waits of up to an hour-and-a-half wait for a tram, telling them it may be better to walk or get a taxi.

In the weeks leading to the start of the tour, the city has come alive with murals, mosaics, art trails, and pop-up shops, including the first ever Oasis fan store, which opened in Spinningfields last month. It was the first chance for fans to grab their official merchandise relating to the tour.
