Police and the fire service are dealing with an incident in the Mermaid Quay area of Cardiff. People are being advised to avoid the area while the incident continues.

A Facebook post from South Wales Police said: "Emergency services are responding to a serious incident in Mermaid Quay. Please avoid the area. More detail will follow as soon as possible."

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "Incident is ongoing, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have a number of specialist officers and equipment in attendance."
