Live updates as more heavy snow forecast for Wales and disruption expected

Heavy snow and rain is falling across Wales for a second, with warnings of disruption and more school closures. Traffic Wales is reporting poor conditions on the M4 in south Wales as heavy rain hits the region.

There are also yellow warnings for snow in parts of north Wales that run until 2pm on Friday. It comes after 10cm of snow fell in parts of Wales on Wednesday leading to more than 70 school closures.

On Thursday, it has already been announced that every school in Flintshire is set to be closed as forecasters predict heavy snow. Flintshire Council confirmed that schools should move to online learning on Thursday.

A warning for snow and ice is in place for 19 of Wales' local authority areas - only Flintshire, Anglesey and Pembrokeshire are not included.

The A488 at Monaughty in Powys is closed in both directions between the Presteign turn off and the Dolau turn off because of snow and the A44 is impassable from the Ystumtuen turn off to the Pant Mawr turn off.

Emergency pothole repairs are also taking place on the M4 between junction 47 Penllergaer and junction 48 Hendy.
