Live updates as M4 stretch closed due to major lorry fire

A section of the M4 westbound between Bath and Bristol is closed due to a lorry fire, affecting those travelling from England to Wales. The road is shut between J18 and J19 westbound with long delays on the approach.

The fire, involving a lorry carrying hay bales, has been going on for more than four hours, with National Highways initially reporting the incident at 4.53pm. Due to the intense nature of the fire the road was closed - and with hay bales now being removed, which need to be dampened down first - there is still heavy traffic.
