Live updates as M4 crash at Newport blocks two lanes and causes long delays

A crash involving two cars and a lorry blocked two lanes of the M4 near Magor this morning.

The crash happened on the eastbound carriageway between junction 24 for Coldra and junction 23A for Magor Services. Traffic cameras show queues in the area with congestion back to junction 27 Highcross.

Just before 8am, traffic was temporarily held to move the vehicles involved safely to the hard shoulder, but there were still severe delays in the area at 8.30am.

A broken down van near Newport also added to delays on the eastbound carriageway on Wednesday morning.
