Live updates as M4 accident causes six-mile long tailbacks
An accident has caused long delays on the M4 on Tuesday, July 26 around Newport. The vehicles involved in the early morning incident were quickly moved to the hard shoulder but there are six-mile queues in the area.
It happened eastbound between junction 24 Coldra and junction 23A Magor Services. At 8am, congestion was back to junction 27 Highcross.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix is showing that the delays are adding 35 minutes to journeys in the area.
The organisation that monitors roads in Wales, Traffic Wales, has warned that it could be busier on the roads this week because of the planned rail strikes. You can read more about those here.
