Live updates as emergency services deal with large fire in Caerphilly
Emergency services are at the scene of a large fire in Penyrheol, Caerphilly, on Friday morning. Heol Aneurin is currently closed between Bowls Close and Caledfryn Way.
A South Wales Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said that they were first alerted at 2.46am to a fire in a two-storey derelict flat. She added: "Multiple crews and appliances have been in attendance, and the incident is now drawing to a conclusion."
Crews will attend the site later today for re-inspection. A statement from Gwent Police just after 6am said: "We are assisting our colleagues at the South Wales Fire and Rescue service whilst they are dealing with a large fire. Please avoid the area."
