Live updates as crash closes town's main road for 'some time'

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious collision on Colcot Road in Barry. The road has been closed by South Wales Police southbound near Barry community hospital.

The road was closed at around 7pm on Sunday, April 14 and officers say it is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area, while delays are expected in the area.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Colcot Road, Barry. The road is currently closed South Bound by Barry Community hospital and it is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
