Live updates as Covid inquiry in Wales concludes
The Covid-19 inquiry in Wales will conclude today. Today the inquiry will hear closing statements from seven core participants of the inquiry.
The inquiry in Wales over the last three weeks has revealed just how unprepared the Welsh Government was for handling a pandemic. There have been a number of admittances made regarding wrong decisions, including cancelling large events too late, lack of testing patients on discharge to care homes, and the length of the firebreak lockdown.
We have heard how Welsh Government officials and ministers used WhatsApp, against Senedd rules, to discuss what was going on, and later deleted messages - going against proper record keeping.
Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford was the final witness to give evidence to the inquiry here in Wales on Wednesday, where he told the inquiry: "I don't claim we got everything right."
