Live updates as Bank Holiday and half term traffic sees queues on M4, A48, A40 and other major routes

Traffic is building on various roads in south Wales this Bank Holiday Monday. Roads in Wales are expected to be busy today as the long weekend continues and the May half term is in full swing.

According to traffic monitoring service, Inrix, there is slow traffic due to holiday traffic on the M4 eastbound in Newport. Meanwhile, in Carmarthenshire, the A48 eastbound is partially blocked with queuing traffic due to traffic problems and on the A40 eastbound in Carmarthen, there is also queuing traffic due to holiday congestion.
