Live updates as A48 and A465 closed by crashes and police warn 'avoid the area'

Gwent Police has warned motorists to avoid two different areas after a collision has affected two roads. This morning, the A48M is currently closed from Junction 29 M4 westbound in Newport due to an accident. According to traffic monitoring service, Inrix, traffic is said to be coping well. Meanwhile, the A465 is currently closed between Dowlais and Rhymney Roundabout in Caerphilly county.

The police force has said that diversions are in place which may cause congestion. They have also advised motorists to avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for their journey.
