LIVE updates: Air ambulance scrambled and road taped off after reports of crash in Ashton
An air ambulance landed in Ashton-under-Lyne this evening (July 19) following a crash between a car and a motorbike.
Emergency services are on the scene of the ongoing incident on Oldham Road, near to the IKEA warehouse, with the road taped off currently.
Fire crews, police and paramedics are on the scene with bus routes diverted temporarily due to the ongoing 'police incident'.

Pictures from the scene show a police van in attendance, as well as a fire engine and incident response vehicle from the North West Ambulance Service.

It is understood the air ambulance deployed to the scene landed on the top of the IKEA car park this evening.
A number of reports in local social media groups indicate the helicopter landed on the top floor of the car park at the site.
The flight path confirms the air ambulance circled the area multiple times before landing at the warehouse.
A witness has told the Manchester Evening News: "I saw the emergency services turning up as I was dropping my daughter off at dance.
"They were very fast at responding, looking at it the car and bike was a right mess. It looked like the rider had been thrown from his motorbike."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 5.30pm on Wednesday 19 July, firefighters attended a road traffic collision involving one car and one motorbike on Wellington Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne.
