LIVE: Two people stabbed as police cordon in place in city centre - latest updates

A man and woman were stabbed in the city centre in the early hours of this morning (Sunday). They were taken to hospital after the incident at around 12:30am on Slate Wharf in Castlefield.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say the incident is 'totally unlinked' to yesterday's protests in the city centre.
