LIVE: Traffic stopped on M61 as emergency services respond to crash
Traffic has been stopped following a crash on the M61 near to Bolton and Salford this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the M61 Southbound following reports of an accident near to J2 A580 East Lancashire Road just before 12.30pm today (February 17).
Highways England has reported that the M61 Southbound exit slip road is currently blocked following the incident.

There are currently delays of around ten minutes in the area, with congestion building up.
MancTraffic first reported the incident, tweeting: "Queues on the M61 s/b j2-1 heading towards the A580 East Lancs Rd."
A further tweet added: "M61 s/b j2-1 towards the A580 crash UPDATE: Traffic STOPPED with Police, Fire and Ambulance at the scene. Queues building."

North West Ambulance Service have confirmed they have taken one patient to hospital following the incident.
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police has said the incident is a collision involving one vehicle.
They are currently in attendance.
