LIVE: Thunder rumbles over parts of Greater Manchester as another storm warning issued - updates

Thunder has been heard rumbling over parts of Greater Manchester ahead of another predicted storm today (June 18).

The region has been braced to wave goodbye to the clear skies and sunny weather, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Greater Manchester and other parts of the UK.

Meteorologists have said people should expect 'sudden flooding' and 'some road closures' with the possibility of homes and business also becoming flooded.

According to the Met Office, thunderstorms will hit the region at about 5pm today and last until about 10pm, with temperatures remaining at a warm 20C. There will be heavy showers across most of the north west.

The news follows on from another storm in Manchester in the early hours of Sunday (June 18). Incredible video footage showed the moment the dramatic thunderstorm rolled in, with rumbling thunder and flashes of lightning.

It was just last week that sudden storms gripped the region, with people trapped in submerged cars under a flooded bridge and a house left with a gaping hole in the roof and charred walls after it was struck by lightning.
