LIVE | SA20 - Sunrisers Eastern Cape v Paarl Royals

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape maintained their impressive home form, dispatching the Paarl Royals by 48 runs in an SA20 clash at St George's Park. 

After winning the toss and batting first, the Sunrisers struggled to form significant partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Only Jordan Hermann, who scored 53 off 38 balls, and Tristan Stubbs, who contributed 43 off 27, really troubled the scorers, with Stubbs taking 22 off the final over to help the home side reach 148/8 after their 20 overs.

Bjorn Fortuin continued his impressive bowling form by taking 2/20 in his four overs, while Eshan Malinga took 2/21.

The Royals' chase saw the loss of the in-form Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who was caught at wide slip off Craig Overton for 3. Big Bash final hero, Australian Mitchell Owen, soon followed as he was caught trying to hit Marco Jansen to the onside to depart for 7.

Things got worse for the Royals as Mitchell van Buuren was bowled by Overton (3/15) for 1, and Dewan Marais (2) was caught behind three balls later, leaving the visitors reeling at 11/4 after 2.4 overs.

They were soon 22/5 when Jansen (3/22) struck again by removing Dunith Wellalage for 8 as he attempted a leg side scoop only to be caught by Tony de Zorzi at short fine leg. 

While Rubin Hermann (35) and Andile Phehlukwayo (22) steadied the ship somewhat, putting on 49 for the sixth wicket, the damage had been done, and the Royals were bowled out for 100.
