Ryan Giggs is due to stand trial today accused of offences against his former partner. The former Manchester United player has pleaded not guilty to charges of controlling behaviour of his ex-partner Kate Greville, assault occasioning actual bodily harm of Ms Greville, and assault by beating of her sister Emma Greville.
The trial is scheduled to last for two weeks. The first day of the trial is due to be heard at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court, and the case is then expected to be transferred to Manchester Crown Court in Spinningfields.
Mr Giggs, of Chatsworth Road, Worsley, Salford, is represented by Chris Daw QC, and the prosecution is led by Peter Wright QC.
