LIVE Rush hour misery as 'major' Greater Manchester disruption sparks train cancellations - including Piccadilly and Victoria

Scores of trains are cancelled in Greater Manchester, causing 'major disruption', train operators are warning.

Northern, TransPennine Express, and Avanti West Coast have cancelled trains running across the region this morning (August 20), including to Manchester's key stations, Piccadilly and Victoria.

Multiple signals have failed at Wigan North Western and Euxton Balshaw Lane railway stations, according to traffic service Inrix.

Severe disruption is being reported on trains coming from Liverpool to Manchester, and from Wigan to Manchester, and around Preston.
