LIVE Queen lying in state queue latest as waits of 30 hours expected and coffin procession updates

It is expected that hundreds of thousands of people will queue up for hours upon hours to pay their respects to the late monarch. The lying in state will begin after the procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall this afternoon.

The King and senior members of the royal family will walk behind her coffin as she leaves Buckingham Palace for the last time just after 2pm this afternoon.

Among those taking part in the procession on foot in the afternoon include King Charles III, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex, alongside the Duke of York, the Princess Royal and the Earl of Wessex. The Queen Consort, the Princess of Wales, the Countess of Wessex and the Duchess of Sussex will travel by car.

The procession will leave the royal palace at 2.22pm and is expected to arrive at Westminster Hall at 3pm. A service, led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and accompanied by the Dean of Westminster, will last around 20 minutes with the Queen's lying in state to begin at 5pm - lasting until Monday, September 19 at 6.30am.

Our reporter will be bringing live updates from the queue. The government has warned that the queue for the lie in state is expected to be extremely long, with people expecting to stand for "many hours, possibly overnight" and with very little opportunity to sit down.

We'll have live updates from the queue and the procession today in our blog, which will load below.
