LIVE: Police tape off Manchester shop as man rushed to hospital after stabbing - latest updates

A cordon is in place outside a Manchester shop after a man was stabbed.

Officers are in attendance on Princess Road, in Moss Side, close to the junction with Alison Street this morning (August 11).

It follows an incident that took place at around 10.20pm on Sunday night.

Greater Manchester Police says a man suffered stab wounds which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of assault. She remains in custody for questioning this morning, GMP says.

A force spokesperson added: "There is a scene in place and police patrols will remain in the area today and this week."

Footage from the scene on Sunday night showed a large police presence in the street.

Officers could be seen speaking to a large number of people who had gathered, while an area of the pavement had been taped off.

They appeared to be focused on a business near to the junction with Alison Street.

A spokesperson for GMP said:

"A man was treated in hospital for stab wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.

"We were called to Princess Road at about 10:20pm last night and acted swiftly to arrest a woman on suspicion of assault and she remains in custody for questioning.

"There is a scene in place and police patrols will remain in the area today and this week."
