LIVE Multiple police scenes in place as shots fired on Oldham housing estate - updates

A number of police scenes are in place following reports of a shooting on a housing estate in Oldham.

An air ambulance has also been seen landing on a nearby playing fields and there are reports of armed police at the scene. It's understood police were called to Shaw Road in Royton earlier today.

Pictures from the scene being shared on social media show the street cordoned off near a petrol station. The air ambulance has also been pictured landed on a field off Salmon Fields.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed reports of a shooting were being investigated. Further details are expected in due course.
