LIVE Piccadilly Station evacuated as hundreds of passengers told 'leave immediately' - live updates

Manchester Piccadilly railway station has been evacuated this evening (September 10).

Numerous people have reported being asked to leave the station.

In a video shared on social media, an alarm could be heard sounding as people were asked to leave 'immediately.' Pictures show huge crowds stood outside on Piccadilly Approach.

One witness said officials were 'investigating something.' British Transport Police (BTP) and Network Rail have been approached for further comment.
