LIVE: Manchester Road in Walkden closed off by police - updates

A main road in Salford is closed off this afternoon after a two-vehicle crash.

Police are currently on the scene of the crash on Manchester Road in Walkden. The road is currently blocked in both directions, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

The extent of any injuries is unknown at this stage. Traffic is being diverted away from the area, with some bus services also having to avoid the closure.

A tweet posted by Stagecoach said: "Route 38. Due to a Police incident on Manchester Road in #Walkden, we're diverting services in both directions via Moorside Road, East Lancs Road and Walkden Road. Sorry if this is affecting your journey with us today."

A spokesperson for GMP confirmed the crash is a 'minor-injury RTC'.
