LIVE: Manchester Piccadilly train lines blocked as passengers warned of disruption
Train lines in and out of Manchester Piccadilly are blocked after a train fault.
Northern trains between Barrow-in-Furness, Windermere, Blackpool North, Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport, and also between Crewe, Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly are all currently affected.
TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh, Glasgow Central, Saltburn, Redcar Central, Darlington and Manchester Airport are also disrupted.
The disruption is expected to lead to delays and cancellations.
National Rail said in a statement: "A fault on a freight train between Gatley and Heald Green means all lines are blocked.
"Trains running between between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport may be cancelled, revised or delayed."
Disruption is expected until at least 7pm.
