LIVE: M62, M60, M6, M61, M67, M56 and M66 traffic as rain batters region
Greater Manchester's roads are starting to get busy as another working day begins. Drivers are being warned to expect tricky conditions this morning (October 13) as the region is battered by heavy rain.
Meanwhile, traffic was stopped on the M60 clockwise between junctions 16 and 17, due to a vehicle fire. All lanes have since reopened, but there are long delays. A yellow Met Office weather warning for rain is currently in force across Greater Manchester.
The warning lasts until 8pm, although forecasters are expecting conditions to improve in our area this afternoon. The Met Office says drivers should expect 'some disruption to travel during Friday', including some spray and flooding on roads. Queues are beginning to build on the region's motorways and major roads.
