Live M6 traffic updates today as crash in Cheshire leaves lane closed

There are long delays following a crash on the M6 in Cheshire today (Monday, December 30). A lane is shut to traffic on the northbound carriageway between Junction 18 (Middlewich) and Junction 19 (Knutsford).

The closure was first reported at around 12.11pm - with two lanes originally shut before one reopened at around 12.40pm. Photographs show long queues forming in the area as a result.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Long delays and one lane closed due to accident on M6 Northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford). Congestion to J17 (Sandbach)."
