LIVE: Long delays after motorway crashes in Greater Manchester and Cheshire - latest updates
Motorists have been facing huge queues this morning following three crashes in Greater Manchester and Cheshire. One of the incidents remains ongoing on the M56 eastbound, heading towards Manchester.
Traffic had been stopped between junctions 14 and 12, near Runcorn, following a crash earlier today. All lanes have since reopened, but drivers are facing queues of around 85 minutes, according to National Highways.
It follows two earlier collisions in Greater Manchester. One lane of traffic was closed on the M62 westbound between junctions 21 at Milnrow and 20 at Rochdale.

National Highways said the closure followed a collision. Drivers faced queues tailing back beyond junction 22 at Saddleworth while the incident was at its peak.
And the A627(M) was partially blocked following a crash near Oldham. There was slow traffic approaching Broadway. Both Greater Manchester incidents have since been cleared.

Both the A627(M) and M62 incidents have now cleared, according to Inrix.
There are now queues of around 85 minutes above usual times on the M56 eastbound, approaching junction 12 for Runcorn.
All lanes have reopened.
