The most fabled team in Formula 1 history reveals its 2022 challenger on Thursday. Following a championship drought stretching back to 2008, the Ferrari team is hoping that the regulation overhaul coming into play this year will give them the chance to challenge for the sport's top prizes once again.

Dubbed the F1-75, the Italian team's new car has been in development since late-2020, with team boss and managing director Mattia Binotto saying ahead of the 2021 season that 95% of their resources and efforts will be going into the new car. And while 2021 has been challenging on various fronts, the team still managed to secure two pole positions and third in the Constructors' championship.

While it might not be said openly (and loudly), it is hoped that Ferrari will once again challenge at the front of the grid this year. As the 'OG' among the teams, there is a constant hope that the team will excel with every new season, and it is no different in 2022.

The drivers

At the start of the 2021 season, Carlos Sainz Jr. joined Ferrari to partner with Charles Leclerc. Together, the two drivers put up exceptional performances in a car that was, technically, nowhere near a competitive level. Yes, the team beat McLaren to third in the Constructors' standings, but the British team managed to secure a 1-2 finish at the Italian Grand Prix - Ferrari's home race.
