LIVE: Armed police scrambled to Manchester Victoria incident as hundreds of commuters disrupted
Commuters have been evacuated from trains following an incident at Manchester Victoria. Images sent to the MEN shows scores of travellers waiting in the train station lobby following delays to transport.
Armed police from the Greater Manchester Police have also been spotted with some platforms closed according to eye witnesses. The MEN understands that officers from the British Transport Police are also at the scene and giving advice to passengers.

A police van and fire engine from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have also been spotted station at the entrance of the train station.

More pictures from the scene show the moment passengers were moved from their trains to the lobby of the station. Emergency service vehicles were also spotted outside the station.
British Transport Police (BTP) say they were called to the railway station following reports of a 'persin in a precarious position'. The incident has been described as ongoing and emergency services remain at the scene.
A spokersperson for the BTP said: “Officers were called to Manchester Victoria railway station at around 2.46pm today (2 August) following reports of a person in a precarious position. The incident is ongoing, and officers are in attendance alongside colleagues from other emergency services.”
