The Alpine team is the second to last team to reveal their challenger for the 2022 Formula 1 season. Having adopted the new name ahead of the 2021 season, the team grew in stature and was bolstered by the return of Fernando Alonso.

Alpine had a strong 2021, finishing the season as the fifth strongest team. With a total of 155 points, they bested the likes of AlphaTauri and Aston Martin. But with the new season creating an opportunity for teams to assert themselves in the championship picture, Alpine will be hoping that they, too, will challenge for race wins and podium finishes.

Following the final race of the 2021 season, Alonso said: "We now need to reset for next year and make sure we have a good winter ahead of 2022."

Alpine was formerly known as the Renault team, but adopted the new name to highlight Renault's motorsport brand, Alpine further. Alonso was drafted in following Daniel Ricciardo's departure, with the new driver pairing of Alonso and Esteban Ocon bringing the team a fair amount of success last year.
