LIVE: All lines blocked between Piccadilly and Manchester Airport due to 'incident'

Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport are being affected following an emergency services incident.

All lines between the two stations are blocked, according to Northern. It has led to a number of cancellations to services.

Emergency services are dealing with the incident, but no information has been released.

A post on Northern Rail's website reads: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly all lines are blocked. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 11:00.

"Services between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport in both directions are currently being disrupted due to the emergency services dealing with an incident. Emergency services will be on site shortly. Replacement transport is currently being sourced."

Train tickets are being accepted on Metrolink trams between Manchester Airport and Manchester city centre.
