LIVE: Air ambulance lands and main road cordoned off after serious crash between cyclist and pedestrian - latest updates

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash between a cyclist and pedestrian in Bolton.

Pictures show a police cordon in place on Chorley New Road, near to the Beehive roundabout. An air ambulance landed on the scene this morning.

A stretch of the road is taped off with traffic being diverted away from the area. Eyewitnesses have reported spotting several police vehicles on the scene.

A GMP spokesman said: "At around 9.50am this morning (Sunday 11 June 2023), officers received reports that a cyclist had collided with a pedestrian on Chorley New Road, Bolton.

"Officers and colleagues from NWAS attended the scene, and a man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries."
