Lisandro Martinez shows true colours with clear message before Manchester United return

Lisandro Martinez has fired a clear message on social media ahead of his return to Manchester United duty this weekend after October's international break.

Martinez has been one of several United players who have travelled across the globe, to represent their nations, during the two-week hiatus from club football. The centre-back starred for Argentina in two World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia - appearing as a substitute in both fixtures.

The 26-year-old will return to Manchester ahead of this weekend's Premier League meeting vs Brentford at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag's side go into the game on the back of a goalless draw with Aston Villa immediately before October's international break.

After making a 17-minute cameo against Bolivia overnight, Martinez has now fired a 20-word message before his return to Old Trafford this week. "It's always nice to play at home and feel the encouragement of our people!" the ever-popular defender wrote on Instagram.

"See you soon. Let's go [Argentina]."

Martinez has made nine appearances for United so far this season, including six in the Premier League. However, the centre-back was left on the bench for the draw with Villa before October's break following the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur the previous week.

Instead, Ten Hag decided to start Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans at centre-back for that game at Villa Park, with summer signing Matthijs de Ligt sat alongside Martinez on the bench. It remains to be seen if Martinez will return to the starting line-up when United face Brentford.
