Lions v Cardiff Live: Kick-off time, team news and live updates from United Rugby Championship clash

Jarrod Evans has recovered from a head knock to start for Cardiff as they face the Lions in Johannesburg this afternoon.

Fly-half Evans has overcome his injury and will make his 100th appearance for Cardiff as the Blue and Blacks finally get to play on South African soil.

Dai Young's men were meant to play this fixture back in November, only for the match to be postponed following the emergence of the Omicron Covid-19 variant, leaving Cardiff temporarily stranded in Johannesburg and having to isolate in England before returning to Wales.

However, back in South Africa now, director of rugby Young has made five changes from last week's 48-12 defeat to Ulster in Belfast.

Full-back Matthew Morgan, Ben Thomas, and forwards Corey Domachowski, Shane Lewis-Hughes and Will Boyde all come into the starting side, while there's a place for Wales flanker Ellis Jenkins on the bench.

Jenkins was released from the Wales squad this week having only featured in the opening game of the Six Nations.

The match kicks off at 2pm UK time.
