Lions team announcement Live as Jac Morgan set to miss out against Wallabies

Andy Farrell will name his Lions team for the first Test against the Wallabies today, with Wales captain Jac Morgan set to miss out completely.

England openside Tom Curry is expected to start in the seven jersey, alongside Irish duo Tadhg Beirne and Jack Conan. Ben Earl is in line to provide back-row cover on the bench, meaning there's no place for Morgan despite his fine form on this tour.

As the only Welshman in the Lions' squad - which will consist of 44 players from Sunday onwards - the hopes of Wales' remarkable record of providing a Lion in every Test dating back to the 1890s rested on the shoulders of Ospreys back-row Morgan.

However, when the team is announced at 6am UK time, it seems likely that Farrell will go in a different direction.

The Wallabies also name their team today, with Taniela Tupou, Rob Valetini and Langi Gleeson all set to miss out through injury.
