Lionel Messi silences raging PSG boo boys but under-fire boss met with swirling Thomas Tuchel rumour

Under-fire Paris Saint Germain avoided mutiny from their own supporters after swerving a fourth consecutive defeat in the most dramatic fashion against Lille.

It appeared another setback under Christophe Galtier was in the offing before Lionel Messi won it in the dying seconds. The manager was facing increasing calls to go amid PSG's nightmare run of results. The pulsating 4-3 triumph on Sunday afternoon came after losses against Bayern Munich, Marseille and Monaco. And the impending woe in the French capital was heightened after Neymar was stretchered off with a serious injury.

Their midweek loss to Bayern Munich led to serious questions about Galtier's long-term future and was almost compounded by their wonky display against Lille. PSG were 2-0 ahead after goals from Kylian Mbappe and Neymar but the 2021 Ligue 1 champions weren't ready to throw in the towel and came back swinging before Mbappe's late leveller and Messi's 94th minute free-kick. Irate punters fumed in the stands before some late relief.

Galtier's uncertain future has led to the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho linked with the a job which often appears a chalice for those at the helm. And the dissenting voices are unlikely to quell despite the late fireworks, with the very real prospect of another botched pursuit of the Champions League pursuit if they cannot comeback in the Allianz Arena.

And Tuchel appears a bonafide candidate with one report on Sunday afternoon with two reports claiming PSG top brass are "seriously thinking" about bringing their former boss back.
